Celebrating World Immunization Week: April 24–30 🩺🌍👶
At The Family Corner, we’re more than just a kids’ play centre and café — we’re a space that cares deeply about families. Every child, parent, and caregiver who walks through our doors is our number one priority.
The Importance of Vaccines
As a mom and someone with a medical background, I’m passionate about sharing science-based information. This knowledge can help families make informed and confident choices.
Vaccines are one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect our little ones from preventable diseases. This protection extends beyond childhood and lasts a lifetime.
In Canada, 92% of children are vaccinated against measles. Similar coverage exists for polio, showing just how much families believe in the science of prevention. However, our national goal is 95%. Every step towards that goal matters significantly.
Staying Updated on Vaccinations
This week serves as a gentle reminder to check if your child’s vaccinations are up to date ✅. Always inform your nurse of any existing health conditions, such as heart issues or immune concerns ❤️🩹.
By communicating openly about health conditions, we create a safer environment for our children. It's essential to prioritize their well-being at all times.
Supporting Each Other
Let’s continue to support one another with empathy, understanding, and informed care. Community health relies on informed decisions and collective action. When we share knowledge, we empower ourselves and others.
Vaccines save lives. They not only protect vaccinated children but also shield those who cannot be vaccinated. This is known as herd immunity. By participating in vaccination programs, we are contributing to a healthier society.
Steps to Take
Check Vaccine Status: Verify your child's immunization records.
Educate Yourself: Read reliable sources about vaccines and their benefits.
Communicate with Health Professionals: Discuss any concerns or questions with your healthcare provider.
Spread the Word: Share your knowledge with family and friends.
